The District of Columbia's ethics board has formally censured Council member Trayon White and imposed a $900 fine for failing to file his personal financial disclosure statements on three separate occasions. According to the D.C. Board of Ethics and Government Accountability, White violated the city's code of conduct and undermined public trust by missing the required deadlines in November 2024, May 2025, and November 2025.

The board's ruling stated that the repeated omissions were not minor oversights but a pattern of non-compliance that eroded confidence in the transparency of elected officials. Under D.C. law, council members must disclose their personal finances, including income, assets, and liabilities, to ensure there are no conflicts of interest.
