IGM Financial Inc (IGIFF) posted robust results for the second quarter of 2026, with adjusted earnings per share surging 32% year-over-year. The company credited standout performances from its two core businesses, IG Wealth Management and Mackenzie Investments, which together drove record net inflows and higher fee-based revenue.
Adjusted net earnings reached $285 million, up from $216 million in the same period last year. The growth was fueled by a 14% increase in total assets under management and advisement, which now stand at over $230 billion. IG Wealth Management saw strong client engagement, with net flows hitting a quarterly record, while Mackenzie Investments benefited from strong demand for its alternative and fixed-income strategies.
Beyond the core operations, IGM highlighted progress in its strategic diversification efforts. The company's stakes in Wealthsimple and Northleaf Capital Partners contributed to the bottom line, with Wealthsimple continuing to scale its digital platform and Northleaf delivering solid performance from its private markets portfolio. Management noted that these investments are beginning to yield meaningful returns, reducing reliance on traditional wealth management revenue.
Operating expenses rose modestly, but the company maintained disciplined cost control. The adjusted operating margin improved by 150 basis points to 38.2%. IGM also returned capital to shareholders, declaring a quarterly dividend of $0.525 per share, a 5% increase from the prior year.
Looking ahead, executives expressed confidence in sustaining momentum, citing a strong pipeline for Mackenzie's institutional mandates and continued organic growth at IG Wealth. The company remains focused on expanding its alternative asset platform and deepening its digital capabilities.
